Tom Felton’s “Apparition” was originally slated for a fall 2011 release, but Warner Bros. shifted the debut back to 2012, lining up a bit of a box-office face-off between Felton and his “Harry Potter” pal Daniel Radcliffe.

That’s because both actors will have ghost-centric supernatural tales coming out next year. “The Apparition,” co-starring Ashley Greene and Sebastian Stan, focuses on a haunting presence conjured up during a college parapsychology experiment. Radcliffe’s “Woman in Black,” meanwhile, is a dark period piece in which a scorned woman’s ghost begins to haunt a small town.

But just because the two friends will have competing supernatural projects opening at the box office in 2012 doesn’t mean they’ll be competing with each other.

“No competition!” Felton laughed in an MTV News interview. “That’s true, they’re coming out next year. That could be interesting to see how that turns out. But I’m really excited for them both.”

So too, it seems, is Radcliffe, who has already shared footage with Felton. “He actually showed me a trailer on his computer a while ago,” Felton said. “It looks awesome. There’s lots to look forward to. He’s very excited.”

Of “Apparition,” which Felton previously told us was nothing short of a “dream role,” the 23-year-old said, “It was so great for that film to be one of my first outside Hogwarts. Ashley and Sebastian are so talented. I learned so much from them, even though I was shooting for only six weeks. I’m very excited for that.”
